Gratification (made in February, 2007) (MP3, time: 9:20)

A piece for harp, celesta, organ, harmonica, electric bass and drums - and people and rain.

La Pomme Cylindrique II (made in February, 2007) (MP3, time: 18:15)
This minimalist piece for three pianos, horn section, bass, and percussion has been long in the making – 35 years in fact. I came up with the basic piano pattern of 14 notes back in 1970 or '71 (you can hear it at 10:38-11:35 in the MP3 file). The plan was to make a tape piece with loops. This was not done, however, until 1978, in the Electronic Music Studio in Stockholm, with the help from Tomas Hammar. It was at that time I came up with the title, which I believe was inspired by Erik Satie's absurdistic work titles. This tape loop piece was around 45 minutes long, and we used an acoustic grand piano in the studio with an extremely hard-strung timbre. I have actually never heard anything quite like it neither before nor after that. So, the piece was unfortunately still not what I had imagined. Now, in 2007, however, I have come up with something made on the computer that is very much like my original intent, although the phase patterns are not continuous like when tape loops slowly diverge, but done in small steps. I have also added bass, percussion and horns. First, the left hand and right hand piano figures are played against each other, until the full pattern is reached (at 10:38), then the whole pattern is played against itself.

Invocatio (made in February, 2007) (MP3, time: 20:57)
Another piece with a history of 35 years. It is built on a couple of fragments from playing with the group Garbo Mobile in 1971. I use some drum patterns which I played and recorded on tape back then, together with a buzzing drone sound that was achieved with the help of a Vox guitar amplifier with bult-in delay, together with a Uher Royal Stereo tape recorder, also with a delay. All the other electronic sounds and some instruments (double basses and some organ) were added in February 2007 in Garageband.

I'm Machine Machine Perhaps (made in June, 2006) (now the whole piece as MP3, time: 20:52)
Originally a poem, here in a setting with synthesized speech and software instruments: electric bass, electric guitars, drums, organ. (In February 2007 the whole piece was uplodad as MP3)

Hornbass (piano, bass, horns) (made in May, 2006) (MP3, time: 2:21)
My first piece made in Garageband. At this time I had no musical keyboard, so everything is made with the small screen keyboard and the alphanumeric computer keyboard.

Alphabet Soup (made in August, 2006) (MP3, time: 4:15)
This is basically a few bass and drum beats in seven together with a piano figure in 13/8 time.

Thanks For the Wounds (made in September, 2006) (MP3, time: 6:27)
Drums, electric bass, horns, guitar and synthesized speech.

My Name is Karlheinz Stockhausen (made in August, 2006) (MP3, time: 6:03)
This is based on a sentence that is presented as fragments, and then gradually completed. The music is based on the Fibonacci series of numbers.

Arrival of Rats (made in August, 2006) (MP3, time: 6:46)
Originally a poem built on phrases from secret documents from the tobacco industry, released as a result of the trials in the US during the 1990's, here in a setting with synthesized speech and software instruments: electric bass, drums, organ.

The Caressing Palace (made in July, 2006) (RealAudio, time: 8:10)
Originally two poems, "The Caressing Palace" and "The 6 and 3 Position", here combined in a setting with synthesized speech and software instruments: electric bass, drums, organ.

Down Current (made in July, 2006) (MP3, time: 6:37)
Originally a poem, here in a setting with synthesized speech and software instruments: electric bass, drums, organ.

Clusters and arpeggios of "This Is Not a Pipe" form the image of a pipe.

This Is Not a Pipe (made in September, 2006) (MP3, time: 3:16)

The second of two pieces based on a graphic image. The software sequencer is here fed with the image of a pipe (see above).

This Is Not a House (made in September, 2006) (MP3, time: 3:48)
The first of two pieces based on a graphic image. The software sequencer is here fed with the image of a house, with roof, chimney, two windows and a door. These elements are then used in different combinations in various instrument tracks.

Sonata Per Flauti e Basso Marocchino (made in July, 2006) (MP3, time: 11:50)
The first of two pieces inspired by North African music.

Algerian Nights (made in July, 2006) (MP3, time: 6:21)
The second of two pieces inspired by North African music.

Fragile Morning (Piano Diary No 1) (made in May, 2005/May, 2006) (MP3, time: 3:11)
An improvisation made on my acoustic piano one morning in May 2005, during a severe episode of my chronic illness (fibromyalgia). After a sleepless night, the mood was set by the faint sunbeams, which made the sparse leaves from last year on the beech tree outside my window glow in a strange terracotta-like color. For me, this is still an extremely emotional piece to listen to. After a year, in May 2006, I added bass and some low-key drum effects. This is also the first of a series of piano improvisations titled "Piano Diary".

Kind of Bluesy (piano/bass version) (NOT YET AVAILABLE) (made in XX, 2006) (MP3, time: XX)
Kind of Bluesy (sax quartet/quintet version) (NOT YET AVAILABLE) (made in XX, 2006) (MP3, time: XX)
